Technical scope
CISA invites research that combines physical models, data acquisition, and computational algorithms to improve image reconstruction beyond conventional sensor capabilities. The conference connects remote sensing applications with computational imaging across disciplines, covering advances in theory, engineering practice, and standardization.
Contributions may address forward imaging models, sensor and hardware systems, sampling strategies, or reconstruction in the presence of measurement noise, system nonlinearities, and limited or irregular sampling. Synthetic-aperture methods and related approaches that connect measurements to k-space samples are within scope.

The call for papers includes the following topics:
- SAR: automotive, mmWave, and THz SAR; polarimetric, interferometric, and tomographic SAR; ISAR; 3-D imaging; image reconstruction methods; novel front-end sensors.

Research from related fields
Contributions from related fields should explain their connection to a physical imaging problem: how the method uses imaging physics or measurement structure, or improves acquisition, reconstruction, or analysis of the resulting data.
Relevant connections include vision-language models (VLMs) for reasoning about imaging measurements and reconstructions; agentic methods for experiment design, acquisition, and reconstruction workflows; and cryo-electron microscopy and tomography (cryo-EM/ET) as physical inverse problems in structural imaging. Generative methods can contribute learned priors within model-based reconstruction.
These examples describe research connections, not confirmed sessions or tutorials.
Special sessions and tutorials
CISA invites proposals for special sessions and tutorials within the conference’s technical scope. The proposal deadline is listed under Important dates. Proposal instructions and the submission destination will be announced.
Author requirements
The call specifies 4+1-page initial submissions and 4+1-page camera-ready papers. Manuscript templates, detailed formatting and review instructions, and the submission portal will be announced.
CISA 2027 is an in-person event. Authors must present their papers live at the University of Maryland for publication in IEEE Xplore.
