Climate Change Initiative

Initiative scope

The Climate Change Initiative was part of CISA 2026 at the University at Albany. It focused on sensors, data, and derived parameters used in climate monitoring, with a goal of forming working groups to develop standards for environmental monitoring processes.

Its measurement theme addressed the technology, hardware, and computational tools used to image Earth’s oceans and land surface, including satellite, radar, and in-situ methods. Its data interpretation theme concerned deriving conclusions about the natural environment from measured data.

Historical submissions

The original flyer listed February 27, 2026 for abstracts, March 20 for acceptance, and May 1 for camera-ready papers. The later submission instructions listed March 24 for initial climate summaries and April 6 for acceptance. These differing historical dates are preserved here with their source context.

The initiative used the same conference submission process. See the 2026 submission guidance.
