Introduction to Synthetic Aperture Radar
Armin Doerry · Sandia National Laboratories
Tutorial scope
Synthetic Aperture Radar maps the radar reflectivity of the ground for Earth resource monitoring and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. This introductory tutorial covers the physical concepts, processing, performance, features, and exploitation modes that make SAR useful.
The presentation emphasizes the meaning of the mathematics through example SAR images and data products. Its four modules build on lectures developed for government, military, industry, and academic audiences.
